Technical Support Engineer Graduate - VMware Cork

Applications are currently open for a position with VMware in Cork for a Technical Support Engineer Graduate.

Requirements: 

  • Graduates must have graduated within 12 months of the start date
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking stack and key networking concepts 
  • Comprehension of enterprise LAN/WAN environment an advantage 
  • Good user experience with Windows and Linux OS systems
  • A naturally inquisitive mind for the technologies of tomorrow 
  • A real passion for sharing and giving to your colleagues and our customers 
  • Fluent in English  
  • Level 8 degree in a relevant discipline 

The closing date is 12 pm, Wednesday 2nd December 2020.  

Permanent contract with a start date in July 2021.

Responsibilities 

  • Communicate with customers and stakeholders, primarily over the phone or web conference to resolve customer issues.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely fashion, via email utilizing our web-ticketing system or by phone or web conference.
  • Document all technical inquiries, obtaining a clear problem description, collect logs and any other required information that may aid in resolving the customer issue.  Resolve customer technical issues through the use of Knowledge Bases, diligent research, reproduction, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner directly with other technical support staff, both locally and globally to resolve customer issues. This may include quality assurance, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and administration teams. This can be in person, via phone or other communications channels such as slack, instant messaging or other internal tools. 
  • Working as our customers advocate, providing a meaningful experience.
