Every day during Virtual Building The Future, we will have 45 minute talks on a range of topics. You will need to register for these workshops individually and click on the Zoom meeting link to join the workshop.

Monday 24th August - Employer Panel Discussion on Virtual Recruiting

To kick off Virtual Building The Future week - we will have a panel discussion with WAM employers. During the pandemic, these employers have been recruiting both with WAM and in the mainstream market for roles within their organisation. Find out from our employers, tips on how to do a virtual interview, what you need to think about when you are starting a job and you are going to be starting remotely and any other questions you may have. If you have a question for our employers - you can submit these at the time of registration.

Tuesday 25th August - Disclosing Your Disability Workshop 

This workshop will help you get thinking about disclosing your disability at work. By using self-reflective questions and some advice from us, we’ll give you the tools to have a confident, positive conversation with your employer about accommodations and supports. You should leave this workshop with a better understanding of the legislation in place around disability in the workplace as well as a plan of what, why, how, when and who you will disclose to. AHEAD will be facilitating this workshop.

Wednesday 26th August - Networking - Skills to Succeed in Your Job Search

Do you know how to start a conversation with complete strangers or acquaintances? Have you ever been to an event, meeting, interview or activity where you needed to engage but didn’t know how or where to start? Networking is a critical skill for career success, but finding the time and confidence to make it happen is not always easy. Our workshop will give you some tips on how to network effectively and give you the confidence in getting that job you want!  Enterprise Rent-a-Car will be facilitating this workshop.

Thursday 27th August - Storytelling in an Interview Setting

This workshop will share insights and advise that has been delivered to over 4000 professionals globally and will apply them to an interview setting. Whether you want to get your point across, leave a lasting impression on the interviewer, or learn how to prepare for an online interview, this session might be for. Accenture will be facilitating this workshop.

Friday 28th August - What is The WAM Programme Workshop

Are you a student or graduate with a disability and want to work? Have you heard about The WAM Programme and still not sure what it means? This workshop will explain how it works, what opportunities we have with our employers, what training and accommodations you can get in the workplace. AHEAD will be facilitating this workshop.
