Canada Life - German speaking Premium Collections Administrator position 

Applications are currently open for a paid 9 month internship as a Premium Collections Administrator, open to people with an intermediate level of German or higher. The successful candidate will work as part of a team and provide high quality customer service that consistently achieves predetermined turnaround and quality standards, in order to satisfy the requirements of the Life Assurance business in the German market. 

Candidates who are interested in applying must have at least an intermediate level of German and hold a minimum of an NFQ Level 7 in an area of Insurance, Banking, Financial Services or Business Studies.  Experience in a customer focused environment, producing accurate work within a tight timescale is essential, and the candidate should have excellent keyboard skills with experience of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and other standard software.

Purpose of the job: 

The successful candidate will work as part of a team and provide high quality customer service that consistently achieves predetermined turnaround and quality standards, in order to satisfy the requirements of the Life Assurance business in the German market. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out the principal Premium collections functions: Direct Debit runs, online collections and payments, premium related queries, reconciliations of accounts.
  • To prioritise your workload in line with team targets and react posititively to ever-changing business demands. 
  • To ensure accuracy in all written correspondence to clients and brokers as well as in updating the system. 
  • To provide excellent customer service to our clients and sales partners, solving problems swiftly and preventing unnecessary delays. 
  • To build positive and professional working relationships with our colleagues in Germany, as well as with other internal departments such as Customer Services, Alterations and New Business. 
  • To keep up-to-date on all technical aspects of the job - products, procedures, compliance and legal issues - attending any training sessions organised on your behalf. 
  • To participate in the training of newer team members. 
  • To participate in the training of newer team members. 
  • To participate in the improvement of Premium Collections workflows and procedures. 

What are we looking for?

Necessary skills: 

  • Experience in a customer focused environment, producing accurate work within a tight timescale. 
  • Insurance/Banking/Financial Services/Business Studies Qualification (NFQ Level 7 or above) or be willing to work towards gaining this qualification. 
  • keyboard skills with experience of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and other standard software. 
  • Intermediate German (degree level or higher strongly desirable).
  • Basic English skills. 

Desirable skills: 

  • 6+ months of experience in administration and/or banking. 
  • 1+ years of experience.

Necessary competencies: 

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. 
  • Team and Customer focused.
  • Be proactive and solution oriented while working on own initiative with minimal supervision.
