10:00 Student Panel: Learning from Lived Experiences of Students with Intellectual Disabilities in Tertiary Education

In the latest, ambitious national access plan, students with Intellectual Disabilities were named as one of 3 priority groups for higher education. Minister Harris commented that “We want a truly inclusive third level system where neither your background nor experience has a bearing on your ability to attend or succeed in higher education."

As the sector now prepares to lay the groundwork on Path 4 projects aimed at developing new and existing programmes for students with intellectual disabilities within higher education, it is important to hear the voices of students themselves to learn where we must focus our efforts.
