South Dublin County Council (SDCC) is a progressive, dynamic and innovative local authority in Ireland.  Digital Marketing - Communications Unit

The graduate role is a key support position within the Council and is assigned to a service delivery or support functional area (for example, Corporate Services) as required. This role will be in the Communications Unit which is part of the Corporate Performance and Change Management Directorate within South Dublin County Council.

The role involves working as part of the SDCC Communications Team in meeting work goals and objectives and delivering quality services to internal and external stakeholders. The role requires excellent administrative, interpersonal, communication skills and specific expertise and qualifications as outlined below.

The role will be predominantly desk based work and moving around the council buildings with the potential for specific events outside of Council Buildings subject to requirement. A high level of accessibility is available throughout County Hall. This includes designated accessible parking, a variety of accessible toilets throughout the building, a Changing Places toilet facility on the ground floor and level access to all entrances. Lifts to all floors are provided, and Braille and tactile way finding signage is installed throughout. Additional access will be reviewed based on the specific graduate role in the local authority and the specific access needs of the Graduate.

The key duties and responsibilities of the post may include:

  • Create and publish content across all online channels, social media, website and communications systems. (For example, original text, photos, videos and news).
  • Coordinate paid media campaigns (Meta / Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google) and subsequent performance reporting.
  • Coordinate and produce regular email marketing campaigns for both internal and external audiences.
  • Ensure website is optimised for Senior Executive Officer (SEO).
  • Monitor and report on social channels by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data / metrics, insights, and best practices, and then implementing changes.
  • Measure campaigns and engagements by defining the metrics and ensuring Key Performance Indicators are hit.
  • Providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the section, department, or division.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer service, responding to queries and requests for information in a professional and courteous and timely manner.
  • Communicating and liaising effectively with employees, supervisors and managers in other sections, senior managers, and customers in relation to operational matters for their section.
  • Providing specialist administrative assistance and support in the delivery of projects as required.
  • Dealing with standard enquiries and correspondence by email, including forwarding to other members of the section, coordinating draft replies, flagging, tracking and following up emails and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required by the Council from time to time.
  • Good team player with ability to multi-task and enjoy an environment that is dynamic and fast paced.

 Data Analyst - Customer Service Team

The graduate role is a key support position within South Dublin County Council and is assigned to a service delivery or support functional area (for example, Corporate Services) as required.

This role will be in the Customer Services Team which is part of the Corporate Performance and Change Management Directorate within South Dublin County Council. The Customer Services Team is transitioning from a direct front-line customer support to a new role in assisting and monitoring customer service provision by service department. The role is key to effectively managing this transition.

The key duties and responsibilities of the post may include:

  • Compiling, preparing, and presenting reports as necessary to promote prompt and efficient responses to customer queries across the organisation.
  • Provide analysis of customer requirements to guide customer service resources and advise on prioritising services to be digitalised.
  • Working as part of the Customer Services Team to ensure high levels of customer service, responding to queries and requests for information in a professional and courteous and timely manner.
  • Communicating and liaising effectively with employees, supervisors and managers in other sections, senior managers, and customers in relation to operational matters for their section.
  • Providing a comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the section, department, or division.
  • Organising and facilitating internal and external meetings / events and participating and engaging in discussions as appropriate.
  • Providing specialist administrative assistance and support in the delivery of projects as required.
  • Maintaining an effective document management or filing system as required.
  • Copy (and audio) typing, proof reading, formatting and processing of documents (letters, reports, minutes, and so on).
  • Preparing and completing standard letters, forms, reports, emails and statistics within clearly defined information.
  • Dealing with standard enquiries and correspondence by email, including forwarding to other members of the section, co-ordinating draft replies, flagging, tracking and following up emails and correspondence as appropriate.
  • Providing a data entry service, maintaining spreadsheets and databases as required.
  • Undertaking any other duties as required by the Council from time to time.
