Event information

The Covid-19 pandemic has required much of the working population to adapt to remote working within a very short time frame. We in AHEAD are working to ensure that we keep our employers informed on best practices in endeavouring to make each aspect of remote working is accessible as possible. We are doing this through collaboration with other key organisations in the area of accessibility, and presenting our collective expertise, information, and experiences in webinars and online meetings.

One of the most important domains in which to ensure accessibility is the recruitment process. With companies' recruitment strategies shifting to virtual platforms amid the Covid-19 outbreak, we decided to present a webinar on how to ensure that this shift is done mindfully; with thought to how best to be inclusive of and accommodate all cohorts of people. We are delighted to have experts in specific areas of disability/accessibility, to present on this topic:

  •  Stuart Lawler, Business Development Manager at Sight and Sound Technology Limited.
  • John Stewart, National Manager of Sign Language Interpreting Service (SLIS).
  • Colm McNamee, Volunteering Associate, Salesforce
  • Rachel Moiselle, WAM Project Officer, AHEAD

WAM Programme manager, Caroline McGrotty, will be chairing the event, and after the presentations there will be time allocated for a Q&A panel and a run-down of 'useful tips' in relation to accessible virtual recruitment.
