UDL for FET Resource Hub

Welcome to the UDL for FET Resource Hub. This resource hub hosts guidance, tools and resources for Further Education and Training (FET) staff seeking to learn about and apply the principles of universal design for learning (UDL), an educational framework which supports practitioners to reach and teach all of their learners and reduce barriers to learning in the design and delivery of their programmes.  While the guidance and tools have been created/curated for FET staff they are useful for practitioners seeking to implement UDL in all educational settings.

How to use this Resource Hub

In this resource hub you can find:

  • UDL for FET Practitioners guidance (main project output) and Scoping Document.  This should be your first place to visit in the Hub! Read the full guidance document to find out UDL and how to apply it, as well as hearing the stories of real FET practitioners implementing UDL in a range of FET programmes across Ireland. This page also contains a shortened summary version of the guidance and the scoping document which informed the development of the guidance.
  • UDL for FET Reflective Tools and Templates (crafted for the project). Visit this page to download a series of editable word-based tools designed to accompany the UDL for FET Practitioners Guidance. These tools are designed to support practitioner reflection and UDL implementation planning.
  • Other Useful Links and Resources (Research, Policy, and Practice). Visit this page to find external links and resources concerning the policy context for UDL in FET, more practical tools to support UDL implementation in different contexts and relevant Irish UD/UDL conference proceedings.
  • Video Examples of UDL for FET in Action. The video presentations on this page show in 10 minutes or under how some FET practitioners in the field are applying UDL and related practices and can provide inspiration for your own UDL implementations.

This is not a static web resource and will be updated as UDL practice in FET further emerges and evolves over the years. Although the guidance and resources in this hub have been created and curated specifically for Irish FET practitioners, they are useful for staff working in all teaching and learning settings.
