AHEAD is delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity being provided by Google.

Please note that we are not involved in the application or selection process for this Programme.

You can see the information about this programme below and also here

As part of Google's commitment to diversity and to providing opportunities to students from all academic backgrounds, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Google Building Opportunities for Leadership & Development (BOLD) Diversity Immersion Programme - Europe for all current students expecting to graduate in 2014.

The BOLD Immersion Programme is designed to provide exposure into the online/technology industry for students who are historically under-represented in this field. The BOLD Immersion Programme will provide participants with a rare glimpse into the online industry; career opportunities at Google; and valuable professional and peer networks. We encourage students to take a chance and discover what it's like to work at Google, particularly those who are pursuing non-technical degrees.

This year’s experience includes an all expense-paid trip to a local Google office (Paris-France, Dublin-Ireland, London-UK, Hamburg-Germany) and a robust programme including industry presentations, skill-building workshops, project work, and of course fun! We will have social activities, community and network building, and an opportunity to develop relationships with not only peers, but Googlers as well!

This year the programme will run in 4 countries. Up to 15 selected students will travel in September 2012 to Google offices in their country of studies. The Irish event will take place in Dublin from 12th to 15th of September 2012*.*(first and last days of each session are dedicated to travel to and from the local Google office)

Eligible candidates should:

  • Be a current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree
  • Have an expected graduation date in 2014
  • Be a current student in Ireland or Northern Ireland
  • Demonstrate academic excellence in an arts, humanities, science, or business-related discipline

Applications are open now until July 31st 2012. Please note that the application is a multi-step process, which will include an account registration, general profile description, and the BOLD Immersion application. The BOLD Immersion application consists of your CV, a short essay, and one reference from a professor, direct supervisor, or a mentor you have worked closely with in your school or community activities. Come and immerse yourself in a culture where great minds, cutting-edge technology, and smart business intersect to make a difference, each and every day.
