AHEAD to partner in new research project - AT users wanted!
AHEAD are partners in a new Research Project commissioned by the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) entitled: Assistive technology/equipment (AT) in supporting the education of children with special educational needs – What works best?
The Principle Researcher is the Work Research Centre (WRC). This research aims to inform practice, support professionals and students and to contribute to future policy development in the provision of AT to pupils with Special Educational Needs in the Irish primary and secondary education system.
To inform the study and decide what questions will eventually be rolled out to young AT users in primary and secondary schools, we want to first listen to the experiences of users who have already made the transition from second level education into training, further education and/or work in the last 5 years or thereabouts.
If you are a student AT user that meets the above criteria and are interested in participating in a focus group, please register your interest by emailing Caroline McGrotty of AHEAD at Caroline.McGrotty@ahead.ie. Closing date for registration of interest is Monday November 18th 2013.
